Exodus: Gods and Kings……A Movie Review about Belief & Faith.

Who doesn’t love a good Bible story that’s been turned into a movie!!! Probably lots of people, but I love them, so of course I wanted to spread the Good News about it. Hehehe….

So I met my lovely husband at the pictures last night (hope he reads this!!!) With great anticipation of seeing something awesome, and I have to say, I wasn’t disappointed.

Although I am not religious, like many that have been brought up in western culture, I know this story fairly well. The movie stayed pretty much in line with the legend of Moses and how he came to free his people from slavery in Egypt.

Even though it was set in ancient times with struggles vastly different to what many are experiencing now, it brings up many subjects that are just as important in the times we’re living now, as they were back then.

For me it was a movie about choices, belief, and faith.

Making a firm choice that often comes from an experience we’ve had and then putting all the positive thoughts we can produce (belief and faith) behind that choice, even in the face of unwanted manifestations, (resistance from our own negative thoughts) and working through those challenges until clarity is once again achieved resulting in renewed and strengthened belief and faith in ourselves and what we’re doing.
Holy Moses…..I make it sound so easy!!!

It can be easy, but that depends a lot on where our general vibrational, emotional place is, and how long we’ve been focused on circumstances that may be unwanted in our lives??? The longer we’ve spent focusing on anything, whether it’s something that’s already happened or is currently happening and whether those circumstances are wanted or unwanted, the Law of Attraction responds equally to all vibrations (thoughts and emotions) that all living beings emit.
Once power and momentum is achieved behind our focused thoughts, it’s only a matter of time before circumstances that feel the same as the vibrations we’ve been sending out are returned to us in full Physical manifestational form unless our vibrations are changed before they have gained enough momentum to materialise. This is Universal Law….No exceptions ever!!!

So what is the moral of this story???

~ Relax and go to see an awesome movie!!!
~ Put all the positive energy you can muster behind the choices you make.
~ When unwanted circumstances turn up, know you have the power and strength to overcome those challenges, if that’s what you’re wanting to do.

And as Moses says, “Don’t believe in what everyone else tells you, believe in yourself.” And I whole heartedly agree!!!

And so our journey continues…..

And so it does!!!

Noah…An Interesting Movie Review.

Anyone who knows me knows I’m more into children’s movies than grown-up movies, but with my husband being of the adult, male variety, I do get to see other movies too.
So the other night we went to see Noah at the movies, and I’m happy to say, I quite liked it. (Because I am quite fussy about what I’ll watch)
It had all the usual ingredients that make up the average movie these days, love/hate relationships, violence; struggle, (Oh, it’s not sounding that great at the moment) a bit of fantasy, special effects, a fairly good ending, and a few Universal Truths thrown in there for good luck!! (Phew, that’s a bit better!)

Well, after writing that, I’m thinking hard about why I liked it?
I’m thinking, I’m thinking, I’m thinking…. Right, got it.
I like movies that involve anything about creation and communication with that which we believe created us, whether it’s factual or not, for it has the possibility of leading us into more of the truth of who we really are, it makes us question and think about such things, and that’s got to be a good thing, don’t you think!! (Well, maybe yes, maybe no, it depends on the direction of our thinking I suppose?)
Now whether the historical biblical story is accurate or not makes no difference to me, for unless there is someone living now that lived in that time and can tell us exactly what happened, (even then it depends on their personal perspective on things does it not?) It’s all speculation.
Now some may argue, it’s a factual event, experienced and written down by… blah blah blah blah blah…. And I say, have you heard a story about something that’s happened after it’s been retold 2 or 3 times? More often than not, the story has significantly changed, usually sounding far more interesting, and…unbelievable than what it really was, so imagine what happens to such a story that has been told over thousands of years to millions of different people, people who are in many different vibrational places, with different life experiences and perspectives on life with varied intentions and motivations behind what they are saying and doing.
Uhmmm, that makes for quite an amazing, captivating story I would say!
For me the best aspect of this movie is the absolute knowing portrayed by all that were living, of their creation, and their belief they had the ability to converse with their creator. What isn’t so great is the idea, that one was chosen above all others to do this? (Yep, you guessed it, I’ve sort of written about that, and if you’re interested, here’s the link, The Secret is…There is No Secret)
But in saying that, it’s only a reflection of what many believe now, and all movies, whether you love them or hate them, are a reflection of the beliefs, struggles, and triumphs many are living now, even if they are entwined within fantasy and intrigue.
I won’t go into what happens in the movie, just in case you want to see it, but it has a bit of everything in it, and although it’s definitely not the best movie ever made, it was an enjoyable 2 hours or so.
But whether you would like it or not, I have no idea…

And so it is…

The Lego Movie….a “TOTALLY AWESOME” review!

I absolutely love kids movies, and the Lego Movie is no exception to the rule as far as I’m concerned!!
When I first started watching the trailer I thought, seriously, a movie with little plastic Lego people, how ridiculous!
But I’m telling you, by the end of watching the trailer, I was convinced this was going to be the best movie ever!!
And for any of my unfortunate friends (you know who you are!) that happened to be around me for more than five minutes, I went on and on about how wonderful this movie was going to be, and I even reenacted some of the scenes I’d seen on the trailer, I just couldn’t help myself!!
Awesome has always been one of my favourite words, but now it’s “AWESOME” with pump-action hand signals like….

Which of course, is “TOTALLY AWESOME”. Hehehe….
So whether anyone else likes it or not, doesn’t matter to me, because I absolutely loved it, and that brings me back to the reason why I love kids movies so much.

I think the majority of people involved in the production of children’s movies, ( I don’t include children’s TV cartoons in this category ) have thought very deeply about the messages they think will be beneficial to their young audiences.
Many are relaying messages such as;

Believe in yourself…
Anything is possible…
If you believe that it will be, it will be…
Treat others as you yourself wish to be treated…
Be kind to others, but also stand up for yourself…
You are special….and so is everyone else, in their own way…
Most of the time, things are working out, even when it feels like they aren’t…

I could go on, but I think you get the picture.
On the whole, these are the types of messages the majority of children’s movies are attempting to convey, and of course there are exceptions to the rule, but I’ve thought about it, and I don’t want to bring your attention to a few kids movies out there that really suck!

As adults, if we strongly dislike children’s movies with these types of messages, it’s usually an indication that we have temporarily lost our way, or have stopped believing in such wonderful, uplifting outcomes because we may have experienced very different results in our own lives. It can be hard to sit through something that you no longer believe is true; and like it.

Of course I’m not suggesting our lives should be like children’s movies, (although it would be “awesome” sometimes!) I’m saying that some of the core messages within these movies are based on Universal Laws, that are pure and based in truth, without the resistant, or negative perspectives that are in the majority of other movies.
Sometimes even though we may not be completely believing these messages, it can still be uplifting and enjoyable to watch.
When we are knowing who we really are, and watching such things, it is truly a joyful, “Awesome Experience!” (Opps, I couldn’t help myself!!)
So, as Emmet would say…”Everything is Awesome,” but just in case it isn’t, let’s do our best to focus on the things around us that are awesome. Failing that, let’s just try to feel a little bit better than where we currently are, and failing that……Uhm……just go and see a movie, preferably something “AWESOME!!”

And so it is….
