What causes the yo-yo dieting effect???

There’s no use denying where we really are…….Acceptance of where we truly are is required with a focus on where we really want to be.      Paulette De-Har

Many people will understand very well through the living of their own life experiences that a lot of the time dieting doesn’t work.

Not only do people sometimes experience very sporadic results but on finishing a diet will often gain what they initially lost and then gain more on top of that, hence the term yo-yo dieting.
Many attempts at dieting ending with the above results can leave one feeling rather demoralized making the chances of succeeding at further attempts later down the road even more unlikely.

I know that doesn’t sound very encouraging right now but there’s no hiding from the truth. Putting one’s head in the sand and not acknowledging what is really happening doesn’t mean that it won’t happen and in truth sometimes guarantees it will. Knowledge is power so when we understand more about possibly how and why things are happening as they are, we are in a much better position to make an informed decision on how to move forward in a more positive direction.

There are as many different reasons why diets don’t work as there are people doing diets because each person’s thought process on the subjects of food, eating, exercise, and general health will be different based on their own personal life experiences. Nevertheless, almost all unwanted results that are achieved will be the result of having a stronger vibration made up of our thoughts and feelings that are more orientated towards what we are not wanting rather than what we are wanting.

For example;
~Focusing on the feeling of being deprived of what we really want to eat versus feeling proud we are doing something very good for our body, mind, and soul by making an effort to become more healthy.
~Focusing on feelings of being disappointed in a lack of visible results versus feeling happy with the improvement in energy, body strength and any other improvements in health no matter how small they may seem.
~Focusing on how hard it is versus the positive benefits one is achieving.

When beginning any new course of action whether it be an improved eating regime or exercise regime, work schedule or anything else, there will always be doubts that come into one’s mind as to which way to go. This is completely logical as the mind can often be resistant to change, especially if we have shied away from change and left others around us to make decisions for us. If the mind is not taken control of by the occupant of that mind it tends to run riot by spewing out negative thoughts and reasons why this or that will not work to try to keep the status quo. A mind not kept in check by moving initial negative thoughts to a more positive good feeling place can make one feel defeated before any actions have even been taken. Most people will not have the ability to take action from this place of negative contemplation as this kills any belief one might have of succeeding, and let’s face it no one wants to start something they don’t believe they can do, especially when it’s going to take a lot of effort.

Another factor that has strong influences on the results we achieve will be how big the change we are planning to make is and how difficult it will be to implement. Major changes in many different areas of our current lifestyle make it difficult to maintain and increases greatly our expectation of seeing results quickly. Expectation can be good but only when we are sitting in a strongly positive place of belief and knowing otherwise it tends to have the opposite effect especially if we have placed a strict time limit on ourselves. Both expectation and time can be positive or negative depending on where each person is sitting vibrationally on whatever they are wanting to achieve. But one thing is for sure, unrealistic expectations and strict time limits hardly ever put us in the ideal place to experience the good feeling life we are wanting.
It’s better to be flexible and open about both time and expectations as this gives us the freedom to change as we move forward without declaring we have failed because we haven’t followed an unrealistic schedule we’ve set down for ourselves.

Ok, so what happens when we initially make progress achieving some success with what we are wanting to do, in this case losing weight but then put it all back on plus some more. When we implement big changes in many different areas of our lives it can be very hard to maintain. The body may initially respond to the extra exercise or change in diet even if we aren’t liking it,  but unless our thoughts and feelings are improved and we can maintain feeling good about what we are doing apart from purely seeing physical results, they are hard to achieve. Any results gained are eventually lost as our enthusiasm for taking the actions we believe are required dwindles. Putting more on after this can only be the result of feeling stronger negative emotion about it. It’s very understandable because it never feels good to have tried something and to feel like we have not succeeded.

Although we all know what we put into our bodies and how much we move directly affects our health and well-being, none of this action makes any long-term difference if our thought is not changed and improved. Any action taken from a resistant uninspired place is always very hard that often produces poor results and doesn’t last unless great strength over our mind is attained. Great benefit can be gained from undertaking something we initially find hard if our mind is strong and we do our best to improve our thought as we go. No matter which way we look at it, it’s always the same. The body follows the mind every single time. A strong body cannot be found in a weak mind and a weak body cannot be found in a strong mind. Working only the body in exclusion to the mind is like trying to drive a car without a motor in it!!! That’s funny don’t you think…..

It is a simple formula really, but when translated into all the specific details of our lives and who we have specifically become in this physical body, it does get complicated I know.
The formula is, take the time to move our thoughts as close as we can to belief and knowing before taking any action. Once this has been achieved one will usually know or have a very good feeling about the initial actions that should be taken, this is inspired action that comes as a result of our improved vibration. Continue to improve any resistant thoughts that come up and focus on the positive aspects of what we have chosen to do and be open to making changes as we move forward.

Whatever anyone is wanting to achieve, I know for sure they can. But what I know about someone else’s experience really means nothing unless they know it themselves……..

For we are the true creators of our lives, and we create our lives through our focused thoughts and feeling, our vibration……..

And so we do…….

Consistency….Is the name of the game!!!

MoonSwing
It doesn’t matter what subject we talk about, the formula doesn’t change…. Doing anything once is great, especially if it’s something that we feel inspired or good about doing, but I don’t think too many people would disagree with the fact that if we’re wanting to see any real longterm change in our lives, consistency of thought and action is usually required!!!

Even though many of us know this, why do we often find it difficult to keep our consistency of action up???
The answer always comes down to similar reasons. If we haven’t taken the time to move our thought into a positive good feeling vibrational place before we take any physical action, we often don’t have the inspiration required to continue on with what we’re wanting to do. And sometimes even when we have taken some time to improve and work on our vibration before taking action, we may still find our enthusiasm wavering, especially if it’s become hard work and we’re not achieving the results we’re wanting.
In the beginning, being strongly focused on the end result we’re wanting in a positive way can help us, but as we keep going, if we start making negative judgements because we haven’t achieved exactly what we were wanting in our desired time limit, this starts to make what we’re doing difficult and can send us in an unwanted direction again. I don’t believe many people have a lack of wanting, everyone wants what they want, but sometimes when we’ve tried many times without success, it becomes painful to keep trying and continue to not achieve what we’re wanting, so it feels better not to try, sometimes it feels better to give-up.
But this too is a bitter pill to take because deep down we know there’s no reason why we shouldn’t be able to achieve what it is we’re wanting….So even though, at the time giving-up may be a better feeling place than failure, we will rarely find any lasting happiness in this emotional place, and fortunately most that find themselves here, will eventually gain the strength to raise their vibration into a better place where they can again start receiving positive ideas.

If we’re receiving good ideas, especially if they’re coming from within us through our own though process, this is a good indication we’ve been somewhat in a good general vibrational place otherwise we wouldn’t be receiving them. The better feeling place we’ve generally been in, the more inspired our thoughts are, and the more likely we are to take action on them, especially if we’ve fostered an attitude of belief in ourselves and our ability.

When an idea comes we may want to act on, the best possible thing we can do is to give it as much positive thought as we can. This is very different from looking at the “pros and cons” of a situation as many people often do at this time. If we do put a lot of focus and attention on all the things that could possibly go wrong and what may not work, this usually has the effect of instantly killing our ideas, for now we are emitting a vibration that may be primarily made up of thoughts and feelings on everything unwanted that could happen, and not many people will take any action from this not good feeling, non-believeing, vibrational place because it’s too hard and doesn’t usually produce good results unless we make an effort to greatly improve our thought as we go, which is possible, but it’s much easier if we start in a good vibrational place to begin with.

As we focus over time on all the positives in relation to our ideas, power and momentum of positive thought is maintained and improved, and as the Law of Attraction responds to the dominant vibrational signal we’re emitting, any action taken from this place is truly inspired and reaps much better results. This is exactly whats going on when we talk to one who explains their “work” not as work, but mostly as a joyful endeavour they get paid to do!!!

Of course resistant circumstances will still turn up, even when we’ve taken action from an inspired good feeling place that has positive power and momentum behind it, but from this strong vibrational place, obstacles are easily overcome and are more of a propeller into even better, fuller, more wanted circumstances!!!

And so it is….

Luck has nothing to do with it…. Truly, it doesn’t!

ProblemQuote
Although I try not to complain too much to others and prefer to move into a better feeling vibrational place on my own regarding whatever I may have resistance about, like everyone here, I do sometimes slip and complain.
So the other day I was complaining about being busier than usual, and by husband commented, “You’re just lucky every day is not like that!”
Well, I’m not quite sure what possessed him to say such a thing (that’s not true, I knew exactly what he was trying to tell me of course) and my response was a very strong, “Luck has nothing to do with it!” Which pretty much ended the conversation. (Which was my way of saying, “I can’t believe you just said that to me, you know what I think about that comment!”)
There are a number of very different perspectives this comment can come from, both positive and negative.
1. I see things are working out well for you and I have no idea how, but would love to know how!
2. I see things are working out well for you and it makes me feel jealous because nothing seems to be working out well for me and I don’t know why?
3. I see things are working out well for you, and I’m annoyed because it feels like I’m working much harder than you but not receiving what I feel I deserve.
4. I see things are working out well for you, I bet you’re really appreciating it; I totally want to know what you’re doing! Do you think some of that will rub off on me!(Hehehe….I hope so!)
It’s not so much about the words we are speaking, but the intentions we hold while we are speaking them. (Remember, it’s not possible to hide what our true intentions are, the Universe knows, and so does everyone else usually) But it would be true to say, the better our intentions are as we speak our words, the more meaning and importance these words have, especially when they are heard by one that’s in a close enough vibrational vicinity to truly hear them.

So in the past it annoyed me when people commented I was “so lucky” when something good was happening in my life, because I always felt like no matter whether this was coming from a generally positive place or a negative place on their part, it always downplayed anything we may have done through our thought and action preceding this wanted circumstance turning up, as if things were just unfolding magically in our favour, with no effort or input from ourselves? And although this may be how it sometimes appears when observing others, there’s always more to the story than this.
There are many ways one can go about achieving that which they are wanting, but it always comes down to what our thoughts are regarding whatever we’re wanting, that then inspires action.
What did I just say?
I think I said, every action, no matter what that action is, is inspired by and through the thoughts we’ve predominantly been thinking in relation to whatever the subject is we’ve been thinking about.
So for anyone to take any action, positive or negative, wanted or unwanted, there has been thoughts that have been given enough focused attention (whether we’ve been aware of them or not) that the Law of Attraction has responded in-kind to, that attracts manifestations of the same vibrational frequency and inspires us into actions that are also in the same vibrational vicinity.
That’s a very good thing to know, don’t you think?
What that means, is that by the time we feel inspired into taking action, there is quite a lot of momentum behind us that makes it quite difficult to pull back from doing…. which isn’t a problem when it’s a positive action that is moving us in a direction we are wanting to go, but if it’s a negative action that is moving us in a direction we are not wanting to go, it takes some very strong will power to not carry that action out to its conclusion.
Well, now you might be thinking, “That doesn’t sound too good now?” And I say, “It is not possible to hide from the truth, the truth is the truth, whether we are liking it or not.”
But like I’ve said before “Knowledge is Power”

And so it is…
